It looks like two new Noel Gallagher albums could be on the way – Liam responds

Noel Gallagher has suggested that he may soon begin work on recording two new albums with the High Flying Birds. Naturally, Liam seems less than impressed

The former Oasis turned solo star released his acclaimed third album ‘Who Built The Moon?‘ last year, and now says he already has a huge wealth of new material. However, working with producer David Holmes again may make him adopt a more adventurous release plan.

“I’ve got a whole backlog of songs, I write all the time so I’ve got plenty of material,” Gallagher told Lars Ulrich on his It’s Electric show on Beats 1.

“I’m going to make another record with David in this way but the last one took four years so I’ll probably have to make another one alongside it in the more traditional sense.”

However, brother and former bandmate Liam has since taken to Twitter to share his thoughts, writing: “Traditional? Thought you don’t do tranitional any more. What happened to your cosmic pop journey? Shit it, have we?”

As well as revealing that he wants former Britpop rival turned friend and collaborator Damon Albarn to appear on his next album, Noel Gallagher also recently revealed that his new material had a lot in common sonically with The Cure and The Police.

“I don’t have a guitar in my house for the first time since I was 13, so I’ve been writing songs on the bass,” he told NME. “It’s unbelievable. It takes all the emotion out of it and you get more of a groove but I’m loving it so that’s what I’m doing at the moment. So everything I’m writing at the minute sounds like The Police, The Cure or if The Police and The Cure were in a band together.”
